Have any of you taken the AP (Advanced Placement) tests this year? I took the AP World History test today, and it was just INSANE! The 70 multiple choice questions were more like AP World Trivia - how much random nonsense can you fit on an exam? That was followed by three essays in two hours ten minutes for all of them. My fingers nearly bled from holding the pen so long! If I didn't have carpal tunnel already, I've got it now!

Oh well. At least I won't need to take world history in college if I get a decent score.

Is this a US thing?. I always felt left out when I watched American High school movies (American Pie...). I have a general idea of what a SAT is but really what is it?, Why do you guys go to college and not university?, how can you go to college when you can't legally drink?, that's just sucks.

Big difference in Canada, I went to school for 5 years. Grade 9-12 and OAC, most people do it this way in ontario, although they've done away with that now . Drinking age is 19, most people go to school when they 19. Although biggest let done from let down from American cinema about university is first year residence. Where's the drunken orgies?. In my building most of the girls had boyfriends back home, did there homework and never drank, like what the hell!... Where's Stifler and his mom?.

Western might be different...

APs are mostly US things, I believe. They're like the IBs (aren't those international?)

I took spanish and US history. The APUS test was a joke, man. At least if you know the first thing about anything. The essays were no sweat and the multiple choice were just silly. Spanish was tough. I've got CS in a couple weeks...late makeup date donchaknow...wish me luck.

Last year, I took the AP chem, AP Language & Comp, and the AP comp sci exam. I failed them all, but mostly because I had two on the same day!

Aaah, you guys don't know what real evil is. Here in QLD we have the Core Skills Test, and we have all these dumb questions that:

a) You would never even imagine thinking of
b) Are designed for geniuses
c) Are designed to make you fail
d) Look really dumb

Me too. In the midwest we have ACT instead.

That's because you didn't go to Central Michigan University. That's the only one I've heard of where that goes on. And maybe it doesn't even go on anymore. They could've tightened up their belts (literally). Go to Top of Page

HAR, at least you have not to take the senior proficency testing.

this joke of a test is summat that makes you answer questions for how to fill out forms, and they are hinting at things by the type of forms. They use the welfare applications, and the food stamp applications, as well as other government forms that will have to be filled out over the course of life. The math part of the test is all arithmatic, and the scary part was that this was all that you really needed to know to graduate

be grateful.

Welfare and foodstamp forms? Sounds like they have real high expectations of their students. :-/
