Depends on where you are in space. Close to the Earth, it would point toward the poles. Further away and it might point toward the poles of the Sun (whose magnetic field is 100 times stronger than Earth's). Each interface between air and frozen water causes some reflection and refraction of light. With enough tiny crystals, all the light is scattered in every direction to make the snow look white. Ground up window glass would also look white. Likewise a large crystal of salt is clear.
