Knight to Queen four, Check
Preposterousatter milk & cookies been keeping you awake?

shaktimac has 68k emulation?
can 68k have shaktimac emulation?
If 68k had shaktimac emulation, would 68k mac run os 9?
would 68k utilise USB?

I've got't' power(not T'pau, though I saw Carol Decker the other day in the play "Mums the word") our kid.

Geez, you really like this whole USB on 68k thing, don't you?

Aaaannnnyyyyyywwaaaayyyy,

Like i said in the USB thread over at PowerBook forum, USB on 68k IS theoretically possible. It's just htat no-one designed a card. OS 9 is, too....to a point. You'd have to take out all the PPC code and convert it to 68k code. You'd be better off getting a PowerMac or running OS 8.1, IMHO.

Note: he has a PMac so... what's the deal here?

just a nice thought... I needn't USB on my old macs... but it'd be cool to cluster them and use their collective power to emulate a really cool newer mac

some special keyboard or something that's USB only?

What's so hard about trying to find a USB PCI card. If you have OS 9 installed, you can use virtually any card that is "OHCI compliant". If you can't find any that say that, try Belkin. A lot of Belkin's cards work on Macs.

Good point. Although there are still a lot of USB devices that are beige, so they match the colour of most PeeCees.

I feel a bit childish replying to this,

I am not a big fan of USB, it sounds so daggy, like that imac bussiness ewwwwwwwwwwww, like a bunch of white lads in cords & dodgy trainer/shoes thinking their going to take over the world.

erm Perhaps I am even not sure why but I don't like usb much, but I am keen on the memory things & my friend can get me a 32 meg one for £12, does that sound right?

I would have firewire given the choice, much sexier, much cooler....

but what can be had for firewire?

Believe it or not, FireWire is supported on almost all 68k machines, though finding the hardware and drivers for the hardware is a different story. os 7.6 and higher support firewire, you just have to use TomeViewer to dig through the install files for the extention. I think that USB on a powerbook would be possible with a PCMCIA Firewire card, of which there are several out there..

Yeah, but 68ks wouldn't be fast enough to handle the fast speed of FireWire, would they?
