 how to make a smi?

well i have a hard drive that i ca connect to my perfoma 200 ( i nice 1 gig) now installing things would be a lot easier if i could make them into smi files, mount all of them and them run the install. how do i do that from regular image files?

IIRC, Apple Disk Copy does that, too. And, it's free.
