My IIsi's power supply is not turning on. I have checked the power cable, the fuses, and even the mother board connector. All fine There is no short out signs inside the power supply, and all is looking fine. Occaisionally I get a clicking sound (which I discovered to be the relay inside the unit). I could always buy a new one, but 1 - They dont make them anymore, 2- I live in Western Australia (they are very rare here!) and 3- Shipping prices are ridiculous at the moment!Any advice, or anyone had similar problems??? Hey, another sandgroper! I've had the same kinda thing happen, but all I could do was swap out the power supply. You *could* check every component and try to nail down the problem, but that could get tedious. One suggestion: try to contact the seller for a cheap IIsi on eBay AU and see if he'll send you just the PSU if you win the auction. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

By swapping the power supply, do you mean you swapped it for another IISi's? I was thinking of getting this pinouts for the logic board connector, and wiring in a PC's AT Power supply. What do you reckon???

a) Yes, power supplies are fully interchangable through all IIsis b) Due to the fact that IIsis have soft power, you'd need an ATX psu, rather than AT. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |
