The PDS slot is for network cards and graphic or TV cards and stuff.... but no USB adaptors continued... You can connect a 475 to ADSL via ethernet but you'll either need a ethernet modem, or make yourself a small network and use another computer as a network router. i think it's hard to get a AAUI-15 ethernet modem. i just found out this stuff : One ethernet crossover (reversed) cable with an RJ-45 jack on each end ($5-10). * One AAUI-15 Transceiver with an RJ-45 connector port ($25-35). can you use a that to your LC 475 ? is it possible ? sorry if i asked to much... i'm really curious into this. because older macs just have the AAUI-15 ethernet ports. There's also network adaptors that have a standard ethernet (RJ45) port instead of using the AAUI adaptor - hell, I have a couple laying around here if you're stuck. As far as SCSI goes.... well if you get yourself an external box then most hard disks should work. Obviously anything Apple will work (external CD's, scanners...etc) And you may be able to hook up an external CD burner depending on what driver is needed. (I have a Teac model that works) Toast software comes with a lot of drivers and even a 'default' driver may work. I think that there's some printers that connect via SCSI too. I guess it's (the mac) compatible with most SCSI devices - the voodo starts when you try and connect several things together. You have to watch for SCI ID conflicts, and deal with termination..... but it's all part of the fun - - - - - - - - - - - - - A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it sure beats a blank stare for starting a conversation. 68k ParaMedic |
