we should have a dayly-use-A-thon with a winodws XP home computer VS a mac OS 10.2.5 computer. with the winner knowing their OS is more stable. now remember, this should be longest on with DAYLY USE not longest on without touching the thing forever. we should also have a way to track this, have some sort of simple server that displays uptime, and that's it. hehehe. this was spawned from a heated argument me, danny and kyle had earlier.

BTW, this is the 1500'th topic in the lounge

10000Th poster and 1000Th AND 1500th topic creator in lounge.

and remember, if you try and install mac OS 10.2 on an early G3, you will go insane, and aquire a thirst for blood!

I could maybe do that over the summer... I know that grandpa uses his iMac alot... and it has a monumental uptime I'm certain! (only 10.2.4 though )

right now I haven't upped my mac to 10.2.5 yet...

I think that this is a good idea!

to make the PC users sweat even more! we need to use the following specs

400 MHz (PII on the PC, and we could even use just G3 on the mac)
DVD-ROM
Zip-100 drive
10 GB HDD
128 MB RAM
17" monitor running at 1024 by 768 or 1152 by 960 (if that's what i'm thinking of)

those exact specs are CRUCIAL to the testing process...mostly because that's the specs of the PC I'm supposed to get are... and it should run windows XP well.. according to everyone...

I also have been wanting a B/W g3 of those specs
