How many members here have their own sites, forums, and/or servers? Try to provide links.

I have my forums at: Stryders Community where all are welcome and my HL server running at: stryderhl.sytes.net (L/P guest/guest)

Oh, yeah. Before someone else says it, "Yep, this is kind of self-promotional, but it's a promotional thread for all of us".

I should have websites at

www.genecomp.tk
www.genecompforum.tk

and another .tk.... I'm not sure exactly what one I've gotten though.

ithink it was www.genecompportals.tk

You've all seen me link to something on my TiBook or my iMac until I could get my real server up and that's what i've been doing until I can get it up AGAIN.

That's the beauty of the lounge, it doesn't have to always be related. My forums aren't either, they're more like a large "lounge" for all sorts of topics.

BTW, is that Cape Cod for the beach pics? That really looks like one of the more popular beaches about 20 min (if I remember right) up the horn from Eastham.

Hey, I'm in the links there! :D What august company, too... ;)

Stryder, the beach is actually Plum Island, north of Boston. But terrain-wise it's just like the Eastham/National Seashore beaches... right down to being mostly closed off to protect the nesting plovers!

I own, unsurprisignly

www.gothikon.com

I also host

www.mclamilne.co.uk <-- don't ask about the music!!!!
www.lindalewin.co.uk
www.norrisharps.com

and a few other misc sites

Unfortunately my server has been a bit flakey lately :/

My main site is really out of date but the galleries are good. I've all the latest news on my local machine but i'm too lazy/busy to finish my content management system and wont update it until I do, which uses Perl and XML. I really need to upload my new online slideshow application too, i finished it a couple of weeks ago and it's one of my best perl scripts. Oh, all the sites work best in mozilla as they use pure CSS layout (except for mclaymilne) if they look crap in your browser it's because it's not standards compliant.......

p.s. coxy didn't know you were a member of OCAU!

I've got a stale little web page on Yahoo! GeoCities. It's got some good info, though on how to build a transistorized Tesla coil capable of producing arcs about 1" long!

My page of spudcannons and whatnot-run on a quadra 605
Features a boring webcam pointing out of my garage window, mostly for my brother to check on the meteorological conditions here at home...but sometimes you will see me out mowing the grass or shooting spud guns.

I have 2 brothers:
Dean (age 16, screenname: +-KoS-+ Ultimo)
Doug (age 18, screenname: Quailman)

Dean is currently the only one in high school. He is also the ringleader of the GameRanger Chost Recon/Rogue Spear clan Killers on Spree

Doug is my brother that I don't see too much anymore. Since he got his license, he is either at school (same college as me), at work, or with friends. As far as I know, he has no website, but at least 14 different AIM screennames.

I'm currently taking Astronomy (Solar System) this semester. I am signed up to take Astronomy II (Extrasolar) next semester. As far as I know, my brother didn't take these courses yet.

I've worked on a variety of sites...
Though never kept one up for long, one thing i dispise in site is bad use of java, javascript, and layers, most people that use layers can do the same with imagemaps or tables.

I'm taking a look at that site now...

I'll download the software if I get a chance tonight and see what happens with it...

Maybe this could be the official "instant" way of communicating for the MLA? seeing as we all have one or another 68k, or atleast OS9 running mac on the internet it could work out well

Nope, my only brother is MacDaddy, and he is studying Meteorology at Valparaiso University. He is too busy to hang around the forums atm.

I vow that when I have my server up... it'll actually work...
NO downloads will be offered over HTTP, but instead it'll all be over FTP...

Either that or I'll just watch my forum fill my 10 gig hard drve.

thanks, quadraJets for clearing that confusion up.
