Someone e-mailed me for a copy of BeOS. I lost the e-mail and the address. Please e-mail me again. The address was in Canada.

I need to contact the admin of the Hotline server. I've been told the image doesn't work. I sincerely apologize, I've used the image before but I use a PC program to burn it. I'll replace it with a .dmg version made with diskcopy.

hmm.. maybe I can delete it myself...

Anyway, sorry all. I'll try to make up for it. I'm just so busy lately.

I can remove the BeOS file for you, and don't worry about making a new one toooo soon. Its already cool enough that you went ahead and did such already.

Don't use OS X Disk Copy to make the image. Use some other program to make a raw device image. OS X Disk Copy doesn't play nice with images that aren't of Mac supported filesystems (like the BFS partition).

Have you used the install disk on a Mac? I tried the image again with Toast Titanium 5.2.1, and it mounted OK on my 6400, but the installer could not find a bootable partition on the CD.

Hey dude, it's was most likely me. I got a BeOS disk burned from Toast (I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!) and I was just going to use on it on a pc so the Mac side doesnt really matter. I haven't been able to test it but don't bother sending a copy. I'll email you if my cd messes up.

Thanks for the offer anyways.

Could someone suggest a program to rip an image from the CD with? I guess I could use toast, but I'd prefer a free utility.

When I used DiskCopy to make an image I couldn't burn the image that I'd created, it said not enough disk space. I'm using 700meg CD-R's, and I think anything larger would be overburn.

the origninal boots on my 5400, but I havne't installed it. That poor machine only has 16 meg of memory so I'm planning to upgrade that and the drive from a 1.6 gig to something bigger. I'd like to max it's memory out.

I'll try to burn a copy using toast I guess...

Try Discribe at http://www.charismac.com/ There is a free demo available that allows 5 burns. It will make an exact sector-for-sector copy of the BeOS CD. I've used it to make images of OpenStep and Solaris, so I'm sure it will work with BeOS.
