Have a look at this picture of a "Mac PHX 100". It looks like a proto of an LC630, although instead of saying LC630 it says, "PHX 100"

http://www.tamabi.ac.jp/mc/collect/take04/phx100.htm

And here's some pictures of a psuedo-coloured 140, at

http://www.tamabi.ac.jp/mc/collect/take02/pb_benne.htm

Is that the rare coloured PB140?

The LC/Quadra/Performa 630 prototype was called "Show & Tell" originally, there was supposed to be a Quadra unit, and a Performa unit.

Show = the Quadra
Tell = The Performa

Instead "Show&Tell" is not one LC630 unit...

as for the psuedo colored PoerBooks.... I'm certain that the guy panted them

If the guy had painted the PowerBooks all one color, or actually painted ALL of the unit the effect would have been cooler.

I did a hunt around for phx100 info and found the link to phx 200, 300 and 500s too, at http://www.henachoko.jp/Love/Mac/

Some more hunting came across some message boards in japanese which had posts referring to a phx100, specifically someone asking what one was!.

Whoever replied mentioned to look at the stats for a 6200/75 as it was the same mainboard, and the machine was identical but modified for education.

The specs on the site above don't seem to show it as being MUCH modified - perhaps some different memory/software bundling, at a guess...

Like a Japanese Mac ED, but in the form of a LC630....

if that IS original... then I don't know what is and/or isnt!

I just know that AppleDesign didn't mention it.

the colored 170 I remember listed somewhere as the 10th Anniversery Mac. There were two versions, the white one which sold only in the US, and the multi-color one only sold in Japan.

The PHX 100 is also listed on the Apple Japan website, referenced in relation to 5xxx/6xxx System issues. The closest cousin to the PHX 100 is the Performa 6200/6210.

GLAYVEN!

except the 10th anniversary mac was planned to be in relation with the color classic "hook" interim of the 520 and the color classic...

the white PB170 was a prototype only and did exist, but neither of those is it...

Early 90's: JLPGA Powerbook 170,
10th Anniversary Mac: Limited Edition White Powerbook 170

The Japanese LPGA Powerbook was sold in limited quantities, but little information is available on the net about it.

The White Powerbook is very rare, and at this point is nearly as rare as PowerExpress Manhattan The only place I've seen pictures similar to the White 170 is on AppleFritter, showing the prototype White 140.
