I have an Apple 600i cdrom, what do I need to make it fit into my Quadra630? The connector seems different.

Thanks,
steve...

oops! you said INTO! You're right there's an adapter kit you'll need to get, there's female edgecard connectors on the MedusaMess for SCSI/Power and audio I/O and a sled for the botttom of the drive.

. . . and welcome to the 638kMLA!

Thanks, this'll be my first 68k running. I've also got a performa 460 that makes a really strange noise on startup. One thing at a time though.

The link you posted was to a cable. I've got an internal CDROM, and it's got a standard connector on the back. The Q630 looks like it needs some sort of funy blade type connector to connect all the cdrom's stuff to the Q630.

The part I'm referring to is called "scsi adapter" in this picture.

Go to a Mac repair place that has been around for a while (since the Performa era) and see if they can sell you one. The one that i worked at had boatloads of the things. They're pretty easy to find.
