I really don't know if anyone can help with this one.I tried to print, 2 hours later I still cannot print. Appletalk is active, the printer port is in use by another application. I switched appletalk off, I restarted the computer. I set the printer to printer port(even though my appletalk is innactive & set, locked to ethernet my computer continually puts my printer on the modem port) It was fine, I checked again the printer was set on the printer port & when I tried to print, I saw the lights flash on my external modem & the printer remained ominously silent. Sorry to hear that your mac had a spat with the printer and refused to talk to it for a bit. From your description, it really sounds like it all should have worked. Any chance the Remote Access, Internet, or Networking configuration was set to use the printer port somehow???? Zapping the PRAM is always good -- but you wil have to redo some of your settings. I also yank preferences files from the system folder that seem to be associated with a problem (look at which prefs files change when you try to print and can't).I hope that your mac keeps printing successfully.
