Just perusing the LEM Swap List, came across this:

Subject: [swap] Several classic Macs FREE in Washington, DC
From: Taylor Armstrong <armwt@mindspring.com>

Well, I've made the decision to clean out my closet, and instead of
dealing with the hassels of ebay, thought I'd offer these here:

Mac 512 - gives flashing question mark, probably needs a HD, I've never
bothered to 2x check.
Mac SE - needs a HD, otherwise fine. "Decorated" college-style, with
lots of stickers :) Has ethernet
Mac SE/30 - basically just a shell, no power supply, but motherboard &
video
Mac IIsi No HD, worked fine until I pulled the HD out for another
machine last year. Has ethernet
Umax C600. Won't boot, mini-tower case

Written down, it doesn't sound like much, but if anyone wants any of
this, local pick up only, just contact me and it's yours. Otherwise, I
may part these out on ebay or just find somewhere to recycle them
locally.

Pick 'em up, somebody!

You do realize the haul that would be...

It measures out to be the equivalent of a a one-way trip from Southampton, UK to Loch Ness up in Scotland. Almost 470 miles and having to deal with city bottlenecks in NYC, Baltimore, and Washington itself... that definatly is not day trip. It's more of a weekend thing.

Also, just to put it in comparison, the round-trip for MacMoose would be the equivilant of a one-way trip from Paris, France to Istanbul, Turkey...

I'm not above taking a road trip for the sake of liberation, but seeing as how my farthest trip so far was about 250 miles round trip, and took the better part of the day, travelling across europe seems a little far.

The grlf lives in D.C. and I'd be heading down this weekend if it weren't for the fact that I have the tail end of a very bad cold. If I showed up and she got sick she'd kick My @$ . . .

Tail end of cold? You're probably not contagious any more.

But you'd get blamed anyway if she caught one.

Time to recruit some Washington-Baltimore 68K folk.

I almost felt human again on Thursday, but I must have caught something else or had a terrible relapse of the first one . . .
