My IIsi has developed a problem. When I power-on, the 'on' light illuminates for a split second and then nothing else happens.I've not had chance to do tinker with it yet, and I've not much experience with Mac II's, but my inkling is that its a PSU problem. Or perhaps not? Anyone with any ideas? Jobf http://jobf.kicks-ass.org |

tried replacing your PRAM battery? If that doesn't help, i'd say the PSU's toast. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 7

check all your SCSI cables... I'm thinking if mine had a problem, a SCSI problem was to blame..maybe if you take out all the ram, and the hard drive and just boot from a floppy Official 68k videographer Official MLA TourGuide |

Jobf,Adding to Cory5412's advise re: SCSI and power: Unhook everything from the 'si, open it up and unseat every internal connection, blow it out with some compressed air, reseat the connections, and hook it back up with a different power cable. Sounds like a lot, but should take you about 2 minutes. Good Luck, FuDHuD Monochronies Unite! |

Thanks for the tips guys. I've tried most of the suggestions, and it looks like a PSU problem. I'm not delving into the PSU, and since I can pick up another unit cheap or another PSU, I'll just do that. Is the PSU si-specific? Or can I use one out of another II series machine?
