In Safari, just set your Text Encoding to Japanese, and it'll display properly.

I guess the Forum code doesn't account for non-Roman characters and doesn't set the text encoding accordingly.

the browser does all the encoding. I can see the text perfectly in Japanese. I'm thinking now that the forum software dosen't have anything do do with it. I do have East Asian language support installed on my computer however. Many of you may not. I can see the text that i posted perfectly provided i have my text encoding set correctly. it will display as ASCII characters if i don't have the encoding set right though.

English isn't an Arab style language.
English is a Western European language and this "Western European" character set is pretty much in everything.
