This one is a 68k hack because it would have a righteous ADB trackball . . . TrackPads SUCK! . . . (and the framing hammer says so!  ) even tho it'd require a PPC upgrade board (2300c) for a 68k Duo as one of the first steps.  I finally mentioned this silly notion in the forums over on 'fritter, so here's another parallel thread for the MLA. This is one that just refuses to stop rattling around in the back of my head. The info in the Developer Notes suggests that the architectures of the 1400c and the 2300c are remarkably similar . There is a Sonnet G3 upgrade card for the 1400c that might just be adaptable to the 603e pads on the 2300c mobo if anyone were actually insane enough to try it. Take a look at the side by side comparisons of the ASICS to check out basic architectural similarities that I whipped up after finally giving in to curiosity: 1400_2300_p1.pdf 136k
