Here in Adelaide, South Australia,( gateway to the blazing desert & stones throw from the Antarctic) we have a whole bunch of Wannabee Internet providers who mostly run PeeCees for their internet ( nasty little thingees). But there is a company called Ngapartji (http://www.ngapartji.com.au ) that has two Blue Imacs sitting oustside in all sorts of weather. (We get blazing hot 44c days on end & winters that can get down towards 0C )
These Macs provide free internet access for the public and tourists. You should see them, they look well and truly beaten up, the casing has taken on a sun-burnt bronze color where it should be white and all the cables look like they've been chewed over by rats. They look like they've been really hammered, but they soldier on like Mac-Grunts of old.
I asked management why they put Macs outside instead of Pc's, and their answer was easy to understand. "Macs can take everything that is dished out, Pc's would fall apart in weeks. These two Blue Imacs have been holding the fort for almost three years, come hail or shine." How tough can you get!
Maybe 68KMLA should inaugurate a special award in recognition for all such Mac-Grunts of the world.
Over to you battle hardened Mac warriors to come up with a title & similar stories of valour under fire.

Thanx Folks

Do they sit out in the rain?
Well, I've seen people drape raincoats over them.
They're meant to have some shade, but the way the rain comes in side-ways makes a joke of any shelter.
Macs really shouldn't get wet: wet is not a good idea. Mind you, they've been known to crackle with Saint Elmo's Fire when the humidity gets to steam bath levels.
I will see about a picture soon.
Arizona yeah what a great place. Would love to see it. We have something similar called the Flinders ranges and some really wild empty deserts. (1 person per 1000 square miles ) This sort of emptiness gives rise to many strange things that go woowoowooo and fly around all skunk-works like in their mystery.. I think that it has something to do with all the USA deep space tracking stations in our neck of the woods.

Simply AMAZING. If/when they ever sell them, you should get them and recase them and give them a bit of TLC.
