Use 'em as coasters! No, I'm serious. I have a bad MP3 CD that my 1400 literally toasted (Bloody slow SCSI bus doesn't support SCSI Manager 4.3....grrrr), so now whenever i get a Coke, i put my bottle on the CD!

Anyone got any other uses for dodgy CDs?

A Half-Priced Books in Austin Texas made a giant disco-ball out of a bunch of old CDs. And a music story in Berkeley, California has a 20 foot snake of CDs strung on some sort of pipe or hose.

Personally, I just leave them shiny-side up in a sunny window sill. That way, they cast rainbow reflections on the ceiling.

I suppose that if one had enough of them, they could be used as roofing tiles for a dog house house -- for Cyberdog, of course

Hmmm... now I am imagining a hacked Mac case made entirely of dead CDs.

I duct-tape bottle rockets to em, light em, and throw the CD like a frisbee(over the field behind my house, of course). It makes a nice shower of shattered polycarbonate

hang 'em in a fruit tree with bits of fishing line. the reflections keep the birds from eating your cherries, etc.

also, sharpen the edges, and throw them at large sheets of styrofoam as darts ;P

Hmm...that's probably why incorrectly burned CDs tend to be called "coasters" these days...I don't know if they use that lingo down under, though...

I've never really had a "bad" burn.........

I also haven't burned too many CDs though... and whatever I've had was either brand new, or the computer way newer thanthe burner... so it's all good

I once used a bad CD-R as a bridge for a musical instrument! Really! For Science Olympiad in 8th grade, I had to build my own musical instrument. I couldn't find any small piece of hard plastic to use as a bridge, so I made the bridge and the nut out of pieces of a bad CD-R. It worked quite well, really.

well we could take over the world by using our bad CDs and (AOL CDs) by sharpening them and taking out world leaders (and dictators) with quicklike frisbee shots

(or we could throw them at our bedroom walls and watch as they slowly shatter and fall into large pieces, hiding them when our mothers come in "WHAT is that noise?"

DONT do that unless you want to knacker your radarange!!!

do what the ladies of the '70s did with bad vinyl, heat it in the oven, ripple the surface, spraypaint gold, and make a clock out of it
