I am having a problem with Final Cut Pro 2.

I am using an iMac G4 15" 800mhz with 512 MB ram, and 9.2.2, and Final Cut Pro 2.

I view clips in the slug, and the sound is fine, though if I put the clip into the timeline, all I get is a constant "boop boop boop boop" sound, that shows up on the sound meter.

any suggestions?

wel.. my first suggestion is... GET RID OF 9.2.2! it's more trouble than it is worth, unless you are running it from within jaguar, or classic! fpfgjih'aw4r!! and with the booping, when you renderr it, does it make that booping sound then too?

first off, FCP2 does not run under classic in jag, I have to boot into 922.

I did not render it, I never had to, unless I made transitions. I was using FCP3 though.....

I'll try rendering tomorrow morning.

caps lock, right?

Well, you have better luck with FCP 2 than I do, I can't even get the thing to put video on the timeline with out goin nuts. I get a general error and then it stays in the timeline, but I get a red screen that says something to the extent of, close this window and try again, but I can't get the timeline or window back upon doing so, so I'm stuck... grrrrr....

I havn't used FCP for a little while, so I'm a bit rusty... the beep tone is definitely to do with rendering (or something) Bloody annoying too! Basic effects are OK, but if you've applied a filter, sometines you can accidentally s-t-r-e-t-c-h the audio track, or done something to the audio track you'll get the beep.

My 8600/G3 crashes every time I try to use FCP [;(] I'm looking forward to upgrading sometime in the future - just about any old G4 would do me.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it sure beats a blank stare for starting a conversation.

My iMac DV 400 with 312 megs of ram and an 80 gig external firewire drive. I'm dragging from the bin to the timeline, that's all, I can't even play from the bin without getting this "general error."

OS 9 or 10, if 9, what subversion?

that seems like an odd problem, what other apps are running in the bg at the time, have you tried this on a clean OS install? if so, have you reinstalled FCP?
