what are your thoughts,

personally, I think that fritter is totally overmoderated, and that they need to lighten up.

I daren't post it over there, they'd delete my account! (see what I mean?)

I know what you mean. They seem to have gone sort of silly over there.

We've had this discussion before but the moderation over there is a total PITA. I mean if it was the site owner well that's one thing but it's not. Typical case of Mod power going to someones head.

All that clickey clickey nonsense is a joke as well.

Not to mention the scathing attitude when i posted a link to a successfull iBook keyboard illumination mod, in a how do I illuminate my iBook keyboard thread, jeez I was only trying to be helpful. And yes i could have used a direct link to the guys pics but i thought that was rude and decided to post the original link with babel fish translation.....

Some of you were around when I went nuts about AppleFritter, but like Gothikon said, it's not only the overmoderation that's a problem, it's the cliques. I have no buisness there any longer. The only old school people that seem to have any respect for me there is Dr. Webster. At one point in time, I was a top poster, ranking 6th or 7th in their top 15, but now, I'm probably not in there at all. I just don't post that much over there any longer, because it's too frustrating. Chris Lawson at one time actually was gonna come down and visit in the summer a while back, now he's out to get me! I try and provide help, he's always there to tell me I'm wrong even when I'm right. He, Bdub, and I had a HUGE 7 page long debate on evolution and other things that revolved around religon. I dunno what else to say, it's early and I've prolly been rambling on, so I'll stop now...

I don't know if "clicky, clicky" or the "padlock graphic" over in MacAch is better or worse in terms of annoyance/humor, but there is room on the web for a lot of different moderation styles. I don't agree with some of the policies on fritter, but I think they do a good job within the framework they are trying to stick to.

As a mod here, I'd like to keep complaints about the fritter mods at a minimum, there's a LOT of crossover in the memberships and we don't need griping on either site, IMHO. There's a thread over there right now that you should be posting in that T.O. started in order to get feedback about the direction fritter should go for the future. He's been very responsive to reasonable suggestions in the past, get over there and give him a chance to hear what you have to say!

I didn't get the impression that there was any scathing to it at all. I liked your link better, it leads to the rest of the site info, but chris's posting of the direct link on that page is easier for a casual look-see. I think what chris was saying was that the multiline urls don't always work correctly and look UGLY, if you'd www.kodawarisan.com%2Fug%2Fnews_2003%2F03.html&frame=random" target="_blank">embedded the link he wouldn't have bothered to repost.

What is "right click"? I guess I have been "wrong clicking" all this time (At least M$ would like to convince everyone that Apple users can't click right).

HAR™

This is why I like the MLA better than fritter. the tangental shift that this topic has gone through in the last day would have got the really annoying "clicky clicky" crap from fritter. I am not really griping, just making a statement of my opinion that the mods on fritter can be overzealous all the time, and sometimes seem to have a bug up their butt about one thing.

JT, I did post in that thread about fritter direction taking, that is what prompted me to post here.

BTW, you want to know a coincidence?
you are top poster #3 on fritter, as well as here ;)

yeah I think that they are kinda overdoing it over there... I'm a mod on http://doofsmack.tommunism.net and I rarely have to do anything... most of the people @fritter and here are pretty well knowing what they should and shouldn't do... and they stick to it well enough..... it's in the agreement and they shouldn't have to do "clicky clicky" too many times for one person in order to keep the peace....
