Anybody know of anyplace to get a powerPC upgrade for the 520c PowerBook? Either one from Newer Technologies or the one Apple put out. eBay was no help...

This is a clip taken from Powerbook central- http://www.powerbookcentral.com/features/upgrade.shtml

Newer made 183MHz 603e upgrades for the 500 series 'Books, and Apple made a 100MHz PPC upgrade for the 500 series and Duo 280-280c. Apple claimed to make a 100MHz PPC upgrade for all Duos, including the 210, but this upgrade is either nonexistent or very hard to find. It's possible, but difficult, to find these upgrades on the used market. However, you're more likely to find them in a PowerBook that someone is trying to sell.

I did find a 603 daughter card at Sun re-marketing (http://www2.sunrem.com/sun02.w?pt=661-0151&catcode=15500) but it is back ordered and without an exchange it's cost is $900! Ouch! Good Luck!

Sure they did, it's quite common, it's called a 2300c mobo!

It has onboard internal SCSI to utilize the internal HDD on the earlier Duos besides having an IDE bus for running multigig drives and video controller ciruitry capable of driving any LCD from the 68k Duos as well and was available as a logic board upgrade for all of them.
