Today a friend of mine brought a Centris 610 to school to give to me. Somebody had given it to him, but he had been unable to get it to boot. When I got home, I found that the stock 230 MB hard drive was dead. The machine had a good PRAM battery a LC 040, 8 MB RAM, a caddy-loading CD-ROM, and a VRAM upgrade. I installed a full 040, a 350 MB hard drive, a 4x tray-loading Apple CD-ROM, and I upgraded the RAM to 20 MB. The machine is now running A/UX 3.1.1.Official 68kMLA Music and NeXT Expert Macs Liberated: SE (2), LC, IIsi, PB 145b, Quadra 700 (2), LC 575, 6100 (2), PB 5300, PowerMac 5400/200, Performa 6400/180 PCs liberated from Windoze: 3 |
