Hello everyone! Was wondering if I could get some help on something: I'm using MacWrite 2.20 on my Classic with 6.0.8. Everything seems to be working well. However, when I'm in MacWrite, I can't use the arrow keeps to manuever around a document -they don't do anything. When I'm in other programs like a control panel or something, they seem to work ok. Is there some setting that I need to be concerned with in MacWrite 2.20? Is this a keyboard or control settings issue?. Or could this be an inheriant oversight on the part of the person that designed the software even? I guess I could live with out it; it's not too big a deal but it sure would be nice if those arrow keys would work. Thank you for your time! Take care spyswitch00 find anyone who knew a little about MacWrite 2.20. |

I'm guessing it's either a case of Apple's software types not following the interface guidelines or that the app predates the ADB interface and the older KBD inderface kinda crap got borked in the shift to ADB.A newer rev of MacWrite would probably fix it in either case I would think. If that's not your thing and the build date of your app seems Pre-SE/ADB: 1) observe backup copy only ResEdit hacking guidelines and have at the KCHR (did they have that back in Sys 6.0.8?) tables to try to get your ADB keyboard to look more like a 128k/512k/Plus KBD. 2) Find an old function key or macro recording hack to do it inside of MacWrite? good luck, jt ™. Hey!Thanks a lot! I'll see if I can track down a later version than 2.20 for MacWrite as the alternatives would probably result in me REALLY screwing something up! Take care!

I thought that the original Apple keyboards had no arrow keys. Anyway, if you're talking about the Apple version of MacWrite 2 (which I think you are, as opposed to Claris' MacWrite II) then that's an *old* version you got there!I've got original Claris MacWrite II disks here that should work on System 6, I'll put them somewhere useful. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0
