I have finnally made a duo type I battery hold 10 AA batteries... AND HAVE IT WORK!! ahhaha!! HAHAHAHA! 10 duracell batteries run for 3 1/2 hours on MAX DRAIN (that's appletalk on, HD allways spun up, backlight full) all I need is 2 more NiMH batteries to make it so I can charge the batteries in the unit, or have to replace them every day, which can get expensive. HEHEHEHE! muahahaha!

Careful! 10 x 1.5 = 15v Duo Bats are 12 volts!

Didn't 8 AA cells work?

accually, when charged, the duo batteries put out around 16V, as to the alkaline ones, it's just the alkaline ones stay there longer. but think about it! it needs 14.4V to even BOOT the unit... I had that concern too, but nothing went KERPOW... soo.... all I need is 2 more NiMH cells, and I can use them, and I won't even have to take them out, because the ones that were there before were NiMH... they were just tabbed instead of nubbed.. hehehehhehe
