Well I am just being proud of myself after solving a couple of problems with my mac. Then I remembered the learning curve I endured when I got an ST. First time using the ST, I switched it on & heard a clunking, I waited & waited but the usual "BASIC" screen I was used to seeing didn't materialise. I switched the computer off fearing it broken & asked advice of my brother who owned an ST too. I didn't know about GUI & I didn't realise that the ST was looking for a boot disk(for 45 seconds & then boots from it's own Rom).

Well it's been nearly a year now of using 840av & I am starting to learn a few things.

Now for the title of my post, Can everybody just stop using os 10 until I catch up?

not on yuor, or my life!!!! I'll hold off on the iMac though until I actually have it with me if you want

I tried booting OS9 on the TiBook... it was horrific... slow and it didn't work very well... and on the PowerBook screen it's not very pretty

try running X on one mac, and your 8.6 on another mac... not that I've had 2 macs at a time when I had the TiBook
