Of course, how would you ever know that there wasn't just a cinder block inside the box? You'd have to X-Ray it.

I have an SE/30 that is still in the original box (though the box has been opened) and the box has cut-outs in the sides for hand holds. If the Classic box is the same, someone could thread one of those fiber optic viewers they are always selling on ebay through the hand hold and have a look inside.

I can just see it now. Someone buys this thing, threads a scsi and power cable through the hand hold hole, hooks it up to an scsi to ethernet converter, and makes the first Mac webserver that is still sealed in its original packaging.
