Well, now that the title has gotten your attention...
Has anyone else heard of the new(?) pop duo from Russia, "Tatu"? My room-mate just played me some of their tracks last night, and I'm suddenly a fan! Basically, the gimmick is that the duo (two hot teenage schoolgirls) are lovers, and most of their songs (at least, the ones in English that I heard) are about, or at least touch on, their love for each other.... yikes! The music is actually pretty good techno/house/trance style, and the singing is not bad either. I wish the Britannia's and Christina's of the world had this much talent...
It's a pretty big departure from the acoustic blues that I usually listen to, but it's a good change of pace. If any of you are interested in hearing for yourselves, just google for 'tatu'- dozens of fan pages are already up, many in english. Also, it seems that the P2P file-swapping networks are already flooded with their music..... hint hint....
