we are barely standing on rickety legs at this time....the entire internet is being packet flooded, and some servers are getting DoS attacks. look out, raise shields on firewall to maximum, leaving only the ports you need open... fair warning, just batten down the hatches. Yeah, it was really creepy last night--all of a sudden half the internet was inaccessible. Seems that certain sites are still down. It's good to know the system can still function, and can recover quickly (that was the original design intent of ARPAnet), but it's also kind of freaky that so much of it can go down at once.M No rank Permanent 68k roommates: - "Mystic" Color Classic, full '040, 36/700, OS 8.1 - Q605, full '040, 36/1.2G/enet, 8.1, Debian Woody - Q605 overclocked to 33MHz, full '040, 20/1.2G/enet, 7.6.1, NetBSD |

I think they did, through their usual blundering. Last I heard it was due to a bug in their SQL server. II2II Intelligence officer in training. |

I was surprised Digital Forest (forest.net) aparently didn't patch their SQL Servers. That patch has been out for a while now - probably why M$ was still working. It sucks when a traditional Mac hosting company gets blasted off the Internet because they've got a couple SQL server machines running. Applefritter was gone along with everyone else on forest.net Although, they were one of the first sites that returned and posted a link to M$ regarding "Slammer".
