I was browsing around RePC yesterday, and saw an apple scanner... it was SCSI, it was like an Apple ColorOne 66/300 or something...

is this a good scanner? do these EVER die? (I saw it in As-Is)
How would I make it work? (I DO have a SCSI 7300)

Its a Apple ColorOne 600/27 probably (they also mad a 1200/30). There should be specs on Apple's page. I know they are canon scanners in apple boxes. I've got one of each though I haven't had a chance to test them. They power up and are recognized by VueScan (don't know if there is a 68k version of this, you might want to check) but they don't seem to want to scan for me under 10.2

I read a bit on them while looking for a way to get them running under 10.2 and they seem to have been good (and expensive) scanners back in their day but are outdone by todays models. But if you don't have USB they might be good. I didn't pay more then $30 for either of mine. I've got some disks labeled OneScanner DIspatcher, but that stuff is probably on apple's site if you need it.

Once I check them out I'll be selling the 600/27 if you're interested.

Tom

hmm.... Yeah I just moved... I would have gotten it other than everything on it was in a foreign language (though that should have been MORE a reason to get it) and my dad would have gone berserk
