Hello, This is my first post after reading 68kmla for several months and rescuing 4 LC III, 2 LC475s, a Performa 575 and a Classic II..i also got a PPC 5400/200.

I recently obtained a copy of A/UX but after looking on the internet found that the LC III i planned to put it on is incompatable but all the quadras are. I looked on ebay to see what they had but they didn't have any Quadras for sale that were decently priced, Just parts.

I was wondering if anyone had a Quadra 800 or higher sitting around that they would like to send me...I will trade it for any of the above or a //gs or //e...if there's anything else you want i can probably get it form my school as they are always throwing away stuff.

I would be willing to pay S&H or pick it up if you're in the central Illinois area. Thanks.

anything higher than a Q800 will not run A/UX, I run it on a Q650, and it runs like a bat outta hell on that hardware, A/UX does not support any of the av machibes, though I know it supports a Q650, some of the Mac II models, an SE/30 and others in the quadra line, though not all.

anyway, try posting this in the trading post, and go for a 650, though with installing a/ux on it, you have to download the absolute latest '040 enabler so that the machine will boot, if you dont it'll give you a bad system software message at boot.
anyway, good luck again

The 68kmla does not condone software piracy, and is not affiliated at all with the website below.

well, that said, www.archaic-apples.com

check it out.

cheers

The 950 will because it is the same as the WGS that shiped with AU/X, although the WGS has a special card that requires AU/X...

What I want is both a ANS and a WGS, now those machines rock!

hehehe... isn't A/UX basically the only commercial 68k software that isn't really considered "abandonware" or am I missing something totally???

What, Microsoft giving software away for FREE?!? There won't be a machine left on the planet that will run that software and Microsoft will still charge you for it.
