Howdy! I'm busy playing around with VirtualPC 5 and 6, but I'm sorely lacking in the x86 OS department. I've got Bochs (another PC emulator) setup with a couple versions of Linux, but I'd like to get my hands on a copy of DOS 6.x or Windows- 3.11, 95, 98, whatever. If you've got a copy around, please lemme know... maybe we can work something out!
Thanks a bunch,
SpaceBoy

Space Boy, look no further.

Just send me some nagging emails, and I'll hook you up with W98 on tuesday.

See http://www.oldos.org/os.htm for old versions of DOS, Windoze, and OS/2. See http://www.chsoft.com/dv.html for a DOS-based UNIX-like OS.

Have you tried OpenStep yet? It runs well under VPC if you allocate 32 MB RAM or less to your virtual PC.

Do you have the Windoze boot disk for VPC? If not, there is a nice freeware boot disk called TechW0rm that will let you install Windoze.

the links on http://www.oldos.org/os.htm don't work. Perhap's some of these OS's could by coincedence end up on a 68kmla hotline server...

http://aph.pccu.edu.tw/ftp/Os/ has some working OS downloads. We're also discussing this in the 'Windows 1.03 under VPC?' thread.

I have like 8 legal copies of win95 that came with computers I have had. if you wish, I'll put one in an envelope, and fire it off. not like I need it, right?

PS...
don't use windows 98, use 98SE. it's the best windows I have used to this point (I've used every one from 3.1 to XP)
