This really caught my eye on macrumors.com forums. This clears up all modern PC vs. Mac myths by Apple!

From the last paragraph on the page:

It can’t be denied that Microsoft has made a good business out of copying the innovative Mac OS. And, truth be told, Windows XP is their best effort to date. But Mac OS X has sent them back to the drawing boards.

Apple's getting agressive! Woo-hoo!!

Now all we need are commercials that have anti-Windows propaganda on them

Actually, Apple repaid the $150 million that Microsoft sunk into the company to keep it aflot years ago. Thus, Bill Gates has no position in Apple to liquidate.

Apple should make a series of TV commercials, one for each of the myths. That would be awesome.

Thanks, I'm feeling much better now, wish I'd known. How many years ago was it repaid and what year was the Darth Vader Keynote?

Everything after the Quadra 950 is a blur.....

That $150M investment hardly kept Apple afloat; Apple has a cash reserve that would easily eliminate most countries' national debt.

The investment did do wonders for investors' confidence, though.

It was non-voting stock as well.

Amazing, though, the number of people that came up to me and said "MS bought Apple" or "IBM bought Apple" or any other major IT company... idiots.

Apple was handing out little fliers with these myths clearly explained at Macworld. Now they need to take it to the streets! They were preaching to the choir, donchaknow. I forget who said it higher up on the page, but they SHOULD make tv ads that put these right out there in the open.

Apple needs to get out and advertise OS X. Maybe they could actually show it in action, unlike Micro$oft, which just showed WindowsWeenies flying around instead of their butt-ugly OS.

I don't know, I found those debunked myths vaguely akin to a horse's arse. Who's gonna believe a bunch of anti-apple myths debunked on the Apple website? I land it in the same category of Microsoft's provlaiming of the evils of Linux.Go to Top of Page

True. Before they started selling the hit product calles Apple ][, they had next to nothing to work with.

But ever since then, they've been simply loaded. In the days when it was all the rage to write articles about how Apple was on the brink of going bust, they could have easily continued to "bleed red ink" for years before the end of the money pile would have come in sight.

Heck, they were reporting loss after loss, and then just went out and bought NeXT for way too much money, and tried to buy Palm shortly after that. Hardly put a dent in their wallet.

Alien's right. Apple has at least 4 billion in the bank. It can afford a good marketing campaign.
