I was messing around with the link i found here about making Apple II and other NTSC monitors work with a mac, and while i was testing it on my old Apple IIc monitor, I got an idea. What if I put a PowerBook Duo 230 in an Apple IIc case with minidock and somehow put an adb keyboard in the corresponding spot, then pulled a superdrive(floppy, not the dvdr) and connected it to the powerbook with a link i remember seeing, and put that in the right spot, then use the IIc monitor? For a kind of greenscreen II30c what u think? -- //=\\ |L |E >< |F (()) |R ||)) 68k Macs Liberated: 5 (Im only 14, give me a break) |

For the true green screen experience, mount a sheet of green gel filter on the screen. some problems though... i only have one minidock and i want 2 keep it for my 2300c, plus i cant get that page 2 work that has how to get green screen monitors 2 work with a mac (no need for a green sheet) I also found a page that will allow me to connect a superdrive to a duo with some cable hacking-- //=\\ |L |E >< |F (()) |R ||)) 68k Macs Liberated: 5 (Im only 14, give me a break) |

Saw this interesting project to boost the resolution of an SE/30 and thought of you.http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/pipexdsl/o/aouq46/PowerCC/PMGSP/PMGSP.html This clever fellow merged the digital side of a 640x480 display board with the analog video electronics a 12" display with the CRT electronics of the SE/30's small screen. I'm not sure if the screen of IIc has the resolution for it, but it might give you some useful ideas for your hack. The best way to really get screwy with people requires a newer mac (gasp!) Mount some powermac in any generic ATX case, instal VPC on it and install windoze. Then set the drive to boot windoze and give it to the tech department at work or something of the like. Ask them to "set it up." Have fun...! DaveBTW, has anyone actually tried putting a green filter over the screen, or any other color for that matter? How does it look? Check out my list below since the low-end duo essentially has the same type of screen as a 1xx series machine so I could try it... -------------- Favoring the 1xx Powerbook Series: 2x-145, 145b, 160, 2x-165, and a IIsi to boot...bong :) |
