I got bored this morning, so I overclocked my Feetsmac to 42mhz. I borrowed some resistors and an oscillator from a dead 6100 mobo, and now I have one fast webserver...Artillery Commander/Engineer, 68kMLA Liberated: LCII , III+, IIci, Q700, 800, and 840av, P550, 410 Contraband: Beige G3/300 MT o/c 400mhz, (2) 6100's Keeper of the 68kmla Hotline mirror server: 68k.dyndns.org

um, its a feetsmac, a quadra 605... For the heck of it, and for a faster snood/soitaire/AIM mac for my parents, I overclocked my LC475 to 40mhz too. As far as heatsinks go, the 605 has a 486 heatsink/fan, and the 475 has a huge @ss heatsink I stole from my dead 1710's deflection board. Now I plan on doin some resistor swapping on my 6360 Artillery Commander/Engineer, 68kMLA Liberated: LCII , III+, IIci, Q700, 800, and 840av, P550, 410 Contraband: Beige G3/300 MT o/c 400mhz, (2) 6100's Keeper of the 68kmla Hotline mirror server: 68k.dyndns.org

hehehe... too bad 840AVs are already 40 MHz... well Qluster doesnt use it's serial ports.. with heat sinks.. do you think I'd be able to get one past 50 MHz?ahh... perfect for cluster ocdmputing Official 68k videographer |

probably around 50mhz, if you dont wanna use the serial ports. I plan on doin that to my 475, but i need to replace the 25mhz specific PLL generator (MC88920) with a better one. Anyone got a dead 33+mhz '040 mobo? otherwise, I'll just resort to digikey (15 bux! expensive!) could you not fake it and install something to sort of keep the i/o isolated in their own little subbus?probally required at the board design level, but just a thought that could push a feetsmac to 140mHz with liq. nitrogen cooling, and USE OF SERIAL PORTS!!! ooOOOooo.... if a FeetsMac can go that fast... think of how fast *other* macs can go to! .ME huggles his Qluster, whilst ordering liquid Nitrogencan we just go out and design a better Motherboard that has onboard all the junk we need? a better (mre overclockable) one... in the Q950 case, this 5 slot AV capable mobo, runs off of a 50 MHz 040 Official 68k videographer |

If you overclock the 840av, the DSP (digital signal processor) might not work correctly or at all since both processors most likely have to use the same multiplier and the DSP might not work at a new speed. I might be completely wrong though if you somehow just overclock the main processor itself...
