Does apache still work on aux, i don't know much about what systems it's still supported on. And what about these free forum apps, are there any for aux. I'm starting back up with my church website project that i've been procrastinating with and i'm currently deciding what system to install on what machine. thanks

the forum software usually requires a server than can do CGI, and many of them require PHP

.. older versions would probably work fine, and would do CGI fine, but php would probably not work. and a/ux wouldn't be something you'd want to use for production anyway, it being somewhere around 10 years old. (my a/ux 3 CD is copyrighted 1992, making that part of it 11 years old.) apart from the fact that you'd be relegated to old versions of stuff for the server, you'd also be vulnerable to security holes, moreso than if you used something else. I doubt very much that anyone plugs holes in A/UX itself, and if you've got to run an old version of Apache on it to do anything, then you've let yourself open to whatever holes might be in that as well.

in short: just use linux or netbsd. :-)
