Howdy, folks! Here's hoping you all had a good holliday season!
I for one had a great time (for the most part...)- at least in part due to the sweet Apple trinkets that I got for xmas! As some of you might recall from way back when, my girlfriend Courtney's cousin works for Apple (I could tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you. Or make you use Windows.), and for my xmas present, Courtney's aunt and uncle managed to get ahold of an Apple mug (blue Aqua 'Apple' logo on the side), an Apple pen (snow-white, with a glossy 'Apple' logo), and a super-cool Apple-logo'ed badge-holder-yo-yo-thingie. It's about the size of a US quarter, and has a 3' string that snap-retracts, sorta like a spring-powered yo-yo. Needless to say, I was floored to get these as presents! :-)
Plus, Courtney is (as I type!) in San Fransisco, attending MacWorld along with aforementioned cousin, and she's bringing me some Apple freebies, including a poster for the new 17" PowerBook (drrooooollll), and her cousin snagged me one of the T-shirts that Apple gives new employees on their first day! I don't know what it looks like (Courtney's not coming home till Sunday), but it's soooo sweeeeeet of her to bring me all this cool schwag, dontchya think?
Okay, enough bragging!
Happy New Year!

Hey man, that sounds pretty cool! I've got one or two things from down at apple too, although its a bit different when it is through your mum's friends niece. The cool part is is taht I have talked to her before, and it is amzing how they can't answer any of your questions .

But yeah, the apple stuff directly from them just has a whole different aura to it.

hehe... I have this Compaq shirt and a HP shirt, both way before the merger, HP is about network test equp, and compaq, about refurbished PCs.
My dad has been the "VP of operations" for telephone companies for awhile... so shirts and hats are our specialty ;)
One day, onb the ground one of my friends found a little gold compaq keychain thing and gave it to me, obviously thinking it was worthless...

I LOVE logo things

Hey again-
I forgot the mention one of the best things- the cousin who works at Apple told Courtney to bring me along on one of her Bay Area excursions some time, and she'll bring me over to the Apple Headquarters and show me around! She even said that maybe I could meet 'The Steve' while I'm there! Yikes! Apparently, Steve Jobs likes to eat in the Apple cafateria with the mere mortals who work for him, so if I was to have lunch there, there'd be a chance that he might be there... A slim chance, granted, but a chance nonetheless....
How cool would that be?! Maybe I could get my Newton autographed....

If you get your newton signed and live through the carnage then you will be the bravest man i know! btw, if you go, you have to wear either a 68kmla shirt or some shirt with the 6colored logo on it. And if i had a girlfriend that was that interested in macs and has a family in with apple, i'd be in heaven.

of course, that's also relative to the fact that if I had ANY girlfriend that had any interest in me i'd be in heaven too, so take that for what it's worth.

hehehe... if only apple shipped out the multitudes of Info like Motorola and this 1" binder full of information about the "ColdFire Family of 32 bit microprocessors from Motorola"

yeah... I can just imagine
"Software that Apple Makes"
"our family of iSeries macs"
"Those ' power' coputers"
"things that start with 'x'"
- different apple catalogs and binders and things :P
