The problem that comes up is if we do go to something like phpBB, vBulletin, or the like, we probably won't be able to carry the threads from here over. Basicly, we would have to start the forums over from scratch.

On the other hand, there is a nifty utility called Asp2Php, which can transfer our user accounts over to a phpBB based board. Wouldn't have to register at least.

As ~Coxy so eliquently put it, it's free, so stop complaining about it. It's not like we have any financial backing to run our own servers with.

There is no app to convert an MDB file to MySQL??? how odd. My MySQL database client converts the MySQL file to an MDB file if I want it too, the reverse should be simple.
ok, this is innane rambling, but I am using a PC client for MySQL called eCONOMICS database editor.
anyway...
that is all for now

I think that our problem is that our server software is a microsoft product, most likely running on win2k

I have a linux server that works :)
it's at my friends house, power all the time, and broadband internet...

buut!
it might be up only for a month or 2 depending on... stuffs
but using this forum software is fine

I've mentioned this to some people on IM, but is it possible that the server is being attacked by a hacker? It seems like as soon as it's up, it's back down again. I'm just throwing an idea out for thought.

I too thought the down times were a little on the odd side. ~Coxy, anyway to check for sure what the problem is?
