It's happening to everybody, so don't feel special.I think it is an error at the server level, which falls under ~Coxy's control. When he finds the error, he fixes it. ------------------ MacMoose Benevolent Genius, 68k MLA Total 68K Macs liberated: 22 and counting ------------------

~Coxy doesn't even have THAT big of a pull unfortuneatly. The servers aren't his per say and so he has to rely on literature classics.~The Penguin **| Want free 68kmla email? Drop me a line |** | Captain, Intelligence Operations / Space Cowboy | | 68khotline.no-ip.org <-- Official Hotline Server |

Well if the servers get fixed that will fix it other then that the only option would be to switch servers/software.-danny You! What PLANET is this! -- McCoy, "The City on the Edge of Forever", stardate 3134.0 ------- 68k Macintosh Liberation Army 68k Macs Liberated: 3 |

Dunno about anybody else, but I'm VERY uncomfortable about the idea of volunteer/member hosting of the forums. A couple of bad weeks is no reason to bail out, this server has been about as reliable as any of the other forum servers over the course of the year.jt

I agree. What people here don't seem to understand, is that these forums(fora?) are being handled by a gracious and generous young man who also happens to be a full time university student with a life(gasp) outside of 68k Macs. He has done very well, as far as this community is concerned, about putting out small fires as they happen. Every internet website has gone down before, and they will all crash again. Accept this, and life will be better. ------------------ MacMoose Benevolent Genius, 68k MLA Total 68K Macs liberated: 22 and counting ------------------

Wow, thanks for the praise, guys! You'll make me get a big head... JT is right about the alternate hosting option. I doubt that any free service or any small provider is as safe as what we currently have now, even if it is Mircosoft... I've pretty much determined that the cause of the problem was a shoddily written ASP script that one of the ads involved. Thus, the top ads have been removed for the time being. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

ALRIGHT!! Thanks ~Coxy, I was waiting for the you to get to that .asp script. I was having all sorts of problems just viewing pages. Even when they did come up, I would try to post something and get the errors back in return. Happy Belated Christmas and New Years everyone!!! ugh, we've got too many threads talking about the same thing. I mentioned in a different one about questioning possible hacker attacks on the server, maybe not directed towards the MLA exactly. I doubt lit classics attract the greatest group of people that want to chea on papers. It seems that as soon as the forums are up, they gone down again. Just a thought.BTW, ~coxy, you're the man. _______________________ Sgt. Thelip Heavy Weapons Specialist - 950 division Keeper of the MLA Tracker - mlatracker.dyndns.org |
