Anyone know how to perform a live adjustment to get colour back on an AppleColour Composite Monitor IIe? I have one and i hooked it to the VCR and it came up in B&W. Can i perform a live adjustment to get the colour back into it? Half the controls on the front don't do anything.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: i know how dangerous this is, so don't warn me.

Hey, I have a monitor just like that in the same config, very cool eh?

*runs to room, looks at controls...*

Ok, on the front of the monitor, under the little flip door, is some knobs and switches. First things first, make sure the push button is in the off position (it will be out, instead of pressed in) then, theres a knob that looks like the contrast sign, except it has three circles in it. Rotate this knob to the right, until you see color. That is pretty much all is to it. If this doesn't work, then it's more serious then that.

Oh yes, i just remembered. If you leave the monitor on for long enough to warm up, when you turn it off you get a flash of RGB for about 1 second while you press the on/off switch.

Does it have a set of RCA jacks on the back as well as the front? If so, the back ones don't display color, just the front ones. *I found this out working with the old Commodore 64 Monitors.)

Mmm...Commodore 64 stuff...er, ah, the Colour IIe monitor just has one RCA plug in the back, also, be fairly gentle with that beast, I find mine gets very cranky if you bump it!

Almost a year later, the AppleColour Composite Monitor IIe still isn't a Colour monitor. And its not a compatibility problem with the VCR...it does it with the Presentation System too...i had it running on my LC630 for a few hours when i first got the Presentation System.
