Basilisk II cannot run MacOS higher than 8.1 because it is limited to 68k code, could it be possible to hack or port a PPC MacOS to 68k?

Mac OS 8.6 is a PPC based Operating System. The only way to allow it to run on a 68K Macintosh is to have the 68K Mac equiped with a PPC Upgrade Card. PPC CPU's are a different architecture than 68K Macs, which means without Mac OS doing a little 68K emulation, PPC machines can't even run 68K software, so this shows the unique difference between the way each CPU handles zeros and ones that combine into data.

Since you are using Basilisk II, this is not possible. 8.1 is the highest you can go.

If you want to use 8.6, you will have to wait untill the new PPC emulators ship, but it seems that they are still not ready.
