So my Pb 2400 will be arriving Friday and I've read that 8.6 is the best system to run on it. Is there an honest-to-bob installer for 8.6, or do I have to update an earlier install version?

Thanks.

The problem with computers is they do exactly what you tell them to. Now where's that fuggin 'any' key?

Macs liberated thus far: SE-30, Performa 6320CD, Duo 280c and Powerbook 100.

COUGH!!!nota68kmacbutstillverycoolCOUGH!!

Yes, you can get an installer of 8.6 from places like ebay or low end mac swap list, which has lots of traffic.

My guess is that this post will magically appear in the lounge.

Now now, 8.6 is still a 68k OS, and besides I'm still looking to fix or pick up another 68k color Duo.

8.1 was the last OS that ran on 68k... You can hack a 68k with the PPC upgrade card to run 8.6, but you're using PPC so that's how it runs.
