 Net bsd and a Q700

Everytime i install my netBSD on my Q700 after i boot up for te first time in single user mode it gives me the warning on the wite screen that /dev/console was not found then stops. Any help?

You might have better luck asking this question on the netBSD/portmac68k mailing list. Head over to NetBSD.org, and look for thr list. I'm pretty sure they keep archives, also, so you might try searching those as well.

I'm not saying that there isn't anyone capable of answering your question here, but that might be a better place to start.

Did you remember to create the /dev tree with the NetBSD installer?

Yep but it still won't work i guess i'll just have to use mac software for my serving needs.

ooOOoo... maybe you try Debian! you can get net install floppys from their website and I'm using it on my server ... and just *think* of all of the MLA goers who have and still use debian on their own Quadras and MacII machines and can probably help you... or you could try one of the other BSDs, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD

I'm sure that there are other 68kable BSDs

(A/UX!!!!!!!!!)(use A/UX)

I eraced it all, i'm going back to 7.5 if i cannot find another small unix.
