Has anyone seen any ISO's of BeOS (4.5 or 5) for PPC? If I recall it didn't run on G3 or higher, but I do have a 7300 I'd like to try it on. I can't seem to find it anywhere, anyone got a source for it?

I recently posted in the old BeOS topic to say that I finally received my copy of BeOS 4.5 for Intel and PPC and the BeOS bible. I still haven't had a chance to try it out though. However I think spaceboy said if I sent him a copy he would upload it somewhere for everyone else (I only have a 56k connection ATM).

Anyway email me at adamhope@IHATESPAMoldsmithy.freeserve.co.uk obviously remove IHATESPAM and we can sort something out.

EDIT I forgot to mention, although it won't work on Macs that shipped with a G3 it apparently works with G3 upgraded Macs

I have retrieved my copy of 4.5 from my folks house. Will upload this week.

Yep, this is correct. Will look in detail at specs on box when I get home from work tonight.

Cheers

Just remember to do a raw device image.

Sorry about the repetition. Every image I've seen on Hotline is missing the BFS partition, so it won't work at all.

I'm going to aquire a copy of BeOS with teh 7300 iThink... i've seen it working... it's cool because BeOS can't turn off the internal speaker... so hook up external and internal speakers and enjoy!

Ok, so just say I *did* have a BeOS disc, how exactly would I go about making an image that keeps the BFS partition intact?

Use OS X Disk Copy to image the CD (not an individual partition but the whole thing). Other programs might work, but I'm not sure how to use them.
