It would be even cooler if it had original disks and packaging, of course then the price would have been considerable higher...Macs Liberated: 9 - 6400/180 (main Mac), 660AV, 636CD, LCIII+, LCII (2), Classic II, Classic and SE. Yeah, I hate that friggin beach ball too... |

The machine is worth five bucks and the buyer was caught on a sales pitch. Here is what was not said: which mouse and keyboard (if any) are included. There weren't even photos indicating whether it the original "Macintosh" or a "Macintosh 128k". Collectors are not interested in the latter so the market price is low.I saw something similar with a modified IIgs on epay just last week, only that machine went for $1200 and is worth about $5. On the otherhand, this is probably the real joe: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4610&item=2080413427 The parts are itemized. The modifications and restoration is noted. Distinguishing features, showing that it is an early Apple II, are clearly photographed. Documentation is included, including the valuable "red book". In retrospect, the bid history also makes sense. Even TiBooks aren't worth that much money. An Apple II with the red book, maybe, but only because both are becoming hard to find. II2II Intelligence officer in training. |
