I an VERY proud to call myself a Geek, i go to school on missons not to learn but convert and to annoy to the extreme! I wear pro mac and anti windows shirts most from MacSurf shop, heck when i got my "Mac geek" shirt and u can ask Graphite Goodness i had that then on for like everyday for a month til my mom was like wear something else! I take my MacAddicts to school and brag about games and macs to other classmates and pass them around. I brag about bein in the 68k Macintosh Liberation Army, how i have soo many macs, i live for Steve Jobs, and brag how i won my LONG battle of PC vs. Mac with my English teacher last year. I stand for all who are geeks we are the ones who make a difference, change the world, and rewrite the books!!!! SO How Many Of You Will Admit You Are A Geek?

I'll proudly admit to being a geek!

That's nothing. I have the "Hacker", "Caffeine", "you are dumb" (written in Binary), and "Reverse Engineer" T-shirts from Thinkgeek.com

HAH! I stuck a 13-page long timeline that charts the development of every major version of UNIX on my wall, and even hilighted the development paths of A/UX, Mac OS X, NeXTSTEP, and Darwin.

I believe that's a contradiction in terms.

I think all 68k MLA soldiers are geeks by definition. Only geeks a) still know about "ancient" (macintosh) technologies and b) go out of their way to save them.

Good point, wallpaper is for sheetrock & wintel boxes.

Critical desktop image content doesn't belong under your drive icons, Bill's minions get everything backwards (axis swapped? nah, Cindy's mole would be on the wrong side too).

...oink ;-)

jt

p.s. maybe we've stumbled upon a possible source of the web content percentage attributed to boxes under the spell of the dark side...

Just look at the screen name I chose.
Today instead of talking to my advisor about the development of my PhD thesis we spent 1.5 hours talking about how to upgrade his beige G3 desktop.

Brown-noser, wash your face and scrounge up a Mac with a copro for pity's sake, you should be embarassed to admit to using an LC at the graduate level!

Welcome aboard from another newbie.

Well at least it's an LC and not a 386 or the like.

I was really trolling for the LC model designation to help in compiling a scrounge list.

I hope you can both tell when I'm kidding around.

btw: that would be a 386sx :-P

The LC is just for fun.
My main work computer is a Powerbook 1400 upgraded to 400MHz. It's fine for running basic stuff in Mathmatica and Matlab.
So far all the LC has done for me is make a pleasant start-up chime and amuse my PC friends.
I don't get demoted for having PC friends do I?

Geek? But of course.

I'm on the school's tech crew. I get to choose music at events, lift things like amps, speakers, subs and mixers, and hopefully operate them!

Official geek here. After all, that day when i was sick I was the one who recruited a dedicated mother (my mum) to go rescue a Classic II 4 years ago from facing certain doom in the home of a PC user.

Hey, I just remembered that the original definition of a "geek" was a Circus performer who bit the heads off of chickens. Hope we all can relate!
