....you are putting together a PC to sell in the local newspaper classifieds and you are goign through all your 4 meg 72 pin SIMMs to get some to put in, when you see one and think, "Well, i can't put that in because its sorta unique."

Just my little rant for the night.

Nah, thats not that bad. Now keeping PRAM batteries because you have no two of the same colour, well, that could be kinda out there....

Good thinking. That could be a possibility.

Yea, I guess I fall into this category too, I have 4 versions of ClarisWorks, 2 MS Works, 3 versions of Pagemaker and 4 versions of Illustrator. I also have a handful of PRAM batteries that are all different colors. Not to mention the boxes and boxes of computer stuff - I can't get rid of any of it cause what if I needed one of those things?

But I do get rid of things that don't work, so I am not a complete packrat.

hehe. I collect curvy macs... 840AV... IIsi... centris 650, to a lesser extent... beige G3 AIO... alltho, I don't think spending 30 mins staring at your computer while it's off an oddity... beige G3 AIOs are purdy... wif all those pore things... and w/BEIGE! what would the new Imac look like if they stayed with beige...... hmmm... the other thing I collect is dot matrix printers! it's so fun. hook them up to an old print server, and fire two 10 page of text and graphics print job at the thing... loud it is, having the both of 'em going at once. can hear them 3 floors up! AHHAHA! one is loud enough as it is... but TWO.... so very fun. hehhe. that's all the psychobabble you need in one sitting!

THHXNNX"... what? it was... and you... WHAT THE HECK?!"

I'm repairing an AIO for a member of my church, she doen't like it and might be getting a pc to replace it and when that happens, i get the AIO!! So i'm stuck in a moral dilemma whether or not to fix this thing, what she is complaing about i can't replicate so i'm wondering if cable was lose, she said after she'd delete 5 emails it would shut down. She's like 65 years old and doesn't know anything about computers.

I agree, the AIO is a really nice looking machine and i've been known to stare at it with and evil look in my eye. If i get it, i might box it up and store it somewhere for 20 years so i can get a fortune from it.

AIO = All In One

PowerMac G3 All in one (Beige)
predecessor to the iMac
no USB
ADB, serial, SCSI, PCI slots, floppy, ZIP drive are generally included
bigger speakers than iMac
cooler looking (IMHO)
AV In and OUt on some models

... When you know the *REAL* definition of "hacker" and believe that you can be classified that way....

... When you can classify yourself

... When you know that Microsoft Betas work better than the final versions

... when you use Micrsoft Betas for normal usage computers... (Including in a server)

... When you can think of all this stuff

OMG OMG OMG!!!! I have SNOTLOADS of 30 and 72 pin SIMMS... i only wish that I had enough computers to put them in... or that I could discharge the MacSE to upgrade it's RAM to put system 7.5.3 on it's 20MB HDD (use an external one also)

... When you have even the slightest thoughts of digging deep into the bowels of a CRT monitor (that MacSE)... during math class!!!

Every so often I just stare at my iMac, and the swivel screen, and think back to the night of the keynote, watching a tiny stream at 2 AM... *sigh*
