What kind of MIDI items?I have brand new in package Roland UMX-1 (I think) USB MIDI adapter.. works in OS X. Midi cables and such... Old Yamaha Midi box w/ floppy drive (DOU-1 or DOM-1.. I forget which and I'm not at home) I'm looking at a moderatly functional 540... doesn't it have PC card slots? ~Marchie ~Chaplain Marchie Admin of The WonderLAN ~~"We are all Mad here"~~ |

There's a PC-card adapter available for the 500 series, but I don't have one available. The 190cs has a PCMCIA on it. At some point when I get USB and OS-X, I'd need something like that adapter you have. When you get home, look around at your stuff and e-mail me (if you have a Proteus 2....I'd be very interested). -Tim

What's with all these wives wanting the 68K stuff to go? I mean, is there any special reason why the desk needs to be cleared? So she can put some sewing stuff there? Well, my wife moved in with me to save money in January, & my apartment is a studio+, and we have 4 cats, so space here is a premium. The desk is covered with boxes and boxes of Mac & Amiga junk, and I am allowed my Amiga and my Newtons. 68K machines are around often enough, that when we get a house & stuff, I can pick up more then. I've purged many things out of here, yet really, all she has here are her cats and her clothes, none of her "stuff" is here. So, I'm making more room.

Wives can impact your 68k inventory, I kept getting bugged about when I was gonna "get rid" of some of those "little computers" My solution was to keep buying more and not telling her what I bought. She still is in the dark about haw many 68k's I really have - I have 8 68k's and one PowerMac (a 6400/180, my main Mac) I have thought, kept things organized and all in one place, that seems to help. I also remind her now and then that Macs are my hobby and it keeps me out of the bars and at home, She likes that idea.Macs Liberated: 9 - 6400/180 (main Mac), 660AV, 636CD, LCIII+, LCII (2), Classic II, Classic and SE. Yeah, I hate that friggin beach ball too... |

I just keep the main stash in the attic since she doesn't like going up there due to spider phobias and it gives me a room the size of the entire second floor to organize within. Otherwise I have 3 PPCs and a PB160 down here that stay fairly active. Oh, I also kept a LC550 active by putting it in my daughters room to entertain her."One slip and down the hole we fall" Styder's Community, a neighborhood for all: http://stryderc.no-ip.com |
