I was wondering if anyone here has heard of 32 pin RAM? It's made by Hyundai, part number HMY591000AM-70. I don't know what machine it is out of, because my girlfriend's mother gave me a big bag of RAM the other day. Thanks The CzarReal Men Use 68k |

32 pin RAM? Are you sure that you don't mean 64 pin RAM?~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

Nope. I know 64pin RAM (like the stuff in the IIfx). This looks *exactly* like normal 30 pin RAM, however it has 2 extra pins tacked onto the end of it. (Obviously :P) Real Men Use 68k |

hehe. I have RAM like that. you will notice that there are no circuts going to the last 2,. if it does not fit into a regualr 30-pin SIMM slot, then it's some old printer RAM (printer RAM is really funny that way.) THnxnxn "do you know what I know?!"

Wow, that's interesting, never heard of it before. Maybe it's just a rort so you have to buy brand X RAM for your brand X printer or something.~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

32 pin RAM and 64pin RAM are related.on a 32 pin SIMM, each pin is usually one address channel. the chips on the SIMM are 8 bits wide. There's less math involved in useing powers of 2 that way for the processor. If you pop open a calculator like the TI-graphing ones you'll see memory arranged this way. ~Marchie |

It does indeed. And it angers me to no end. I have 8-16MB modules of 64pin RAM in my IIfx, but the bloody thing won't boot! Oh well. I just wish I could put that RAM to good use in another machine. Lord knows I could use it. Real Men Use 68k |

What kind of RAM you looking for? I'd take some of that 64pin off your hands. I could use some more in my IIfx... need more for the occiloscope.~Marchie ~Chaplain Marchie Admin of The WonderLAN ~~"We are all Mad here"~~ |
