I've got a cable with on one side the 8 pin serial connector and on the other side a 25 pin paralel/SCSI ? connector. What can i use this cable for, can i use it to connect a parelel port printer to my Mac ?

I really ought not to reply after reading the BOFH.

There are a variety of serial connectors, some of which have 25 pins and look a bit like a parallel or SCSI connector -- but it isn't either one of these since any adaptor between these three interfaces would require accompanying electronics.

What you are describing sounds like a Macintosh serial cable for modems or serial printers.

Maybe this would be something for printers like a Hoowlit Pakerd LaserJet IIp (I remember mine having a 25pin that said "serial" and if it is... those LJs are good printers... and it's easy to write LJ
