There's a humiliated Quadra 630 with no outer casing sitting at the thrift store, and I'm wondering whether I should save it or not. I guess it depends on how low the thrift store will go. I have to get my screwdriver and open it up to see how much RAM and what kind of a hard drive it has, but from the outside I can see the CD-ROM and the COM II ethernet card.

Oh, they also have Doom II and King's Quest 5 sealed in the original boxes and both on floppies, and a Radius full-page display with a VGA port. I wonder how much they'll let it all go for...

Get it!!! The whole lot!!!

Btw, my 630 (which i am now typing this on) was also liberated from living a bad life, except that it wasn't in a situation for which it was embarrassed or humiliated. In fact, it looked pretty respectable. The problem was that it was sitting under a desk not being used. About 3 hours later, it was One Of The Liberated.

Cripes...I really want to save it, but I don't have any money left.

Well I don't think I need my spleen anymore. Maybe they'll take that?

I'm sure they'd want more than a spleen. A spleen and a bag of original-flavored Sun Chips would make an enticing deal, though.

Go back to the store and demand that the manager give it to you (make it sound like you're slightly insane and you believe that he took the 630 just to piss you off)

I actually did try that the time they sold the Sun SpacServer 1000 that I'd put on hold earlier in the day. The RAM in that beast alone was worth $100, and they sold it for $5. Needless to say, I was very, very angry.
